I have received three County of Los Angeles remittance advice checks in the past 3 months. Why?
I am a new home owner. I bought my home in April. For the last three months I have received checks from the County of Los Angeles. The title of the check says “County of Los Angeles remittance advice”. I am thoroughly confused why I am getting money. It says that my home was due for a property tax refund. I am pretty clueless, can anyone offer some advice?
With the prices of homes dropping the county of los angeles is issuing back checks for the tax that was collected on their estimated value at the time the tax was collected. I would put it in the bank and look over your closing documents to see if you are the person you purchased it from is entitled to the monies
